ablum Posted January 29, 2005 #12 Share Posted January 29, 2005 Hi We are sailing 4/23 on CP. Has anyone any info on snorkeling conditions at Princess Cay. In Nov we went to Hal's private island and the fish were practically all destroyed by the hurricaines. Hope they are restocked. Would appreciate any onfo Arlene & Marvin
nancyox Posted January 29, 2005 #13 Share Posted January 29, 2005 the "cabanas" were on the right, uncrowded, side of the beach and appeared to be the collapsible blue tent-like cabanas u might see in miami beach...i would guess that they would only fit two chaises... there is an entire row of palm shade trees that have built-on tables on the left beach and also plenty of pavillion space under cover if u want shade. i don't know about the fish...as i said before the water is immaculate and crystal clear...but i might add, a bit cold. once u got in past your shoulders, thought it was delightful. nancy
mafig Posted January 30, 2005 #14 Share Posted January 30, 2005 We were at Princess Cays on Saturday (Jan 29), aboard Star Princess. The cabanas are like clamshells in blue sunbrella fabric. We didn't snorkle (too cold for us Floridians). However, we walked the end of the pier and could see tons of fish in the water. Others, far braver than we, were snorkling. Rare ghgeckos Posted January 31, 2005 #15 Share Posted January 31, 2005 if you took a picture of the cabana's could you post the picture? thanks
mafig Posted January 31, 2005 #16 Share Posted January 31, 2005 Sorry, we didn't take any pictures of the cabanas. Really didn't even think of it. If it's shade you're looking for there are plenty of thatched umbrella-like thingies, with loungers underneath them, for free.
