fsdj1097 Posted January 28, 2005 #1 Share Posted January 28, 2005 We are considering using Dockside Charters in Skagway. When I contacted Greg, he said that the salmon fishing would be terrific in late May. We will be in Skagway May 24th from 7am - 9pm. Has anyone used this operator and has anyone had success salmon fishing during late May? Thanks for your replies. Sam
dodge9 Posted January 28, 2005 #2 Share Posted January 28, 2005 I have been to Alaska twice previously in May and I can not tell yout his is 100% true, but I swear they always said it was too early for the salmon... you may want to do some research before spending money on a fishing tour for salmon or see if the tour provider offers any guarantees or money back if the fishing is bad. Good luck!
Gumtree Posted January 28, 2005 #3 Share Posted January 28, 2005 Sam, I asked this question a few weeks ago..I've included the link to the post w/the answer I received. Basically, the answer was "no", and this came from someone who lives in the Yukon. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=120708
fsdj1097 Posted January 28, 2005 Author #4 Share Posted January 28, 2005 Thanks Gumtree for the link. We will also be in Ketchikan and Juneau, but for much shorter port times. Any suggestions for fishing at either of these ports? Thanks again for your replies? Sam
Gumtree Posted January 29, 2005 #5 Share Posted January 29, 2005 Sam -- I'd try posting a thread to the attention of Yukon Jack -- he could probably give you a good recommendation. Have a great cruise!
