Hi all. There is an existing rollcall in the main section for this cruise, but I thought I'd try finding other GLBT folks that may be joining, taking out the guesswork in this thread.

Carl and I are doing a B2B on this ship, taking the last 9-night "Baltic Capitals" roundtrip of the season (Sep 11, 2011) from/to Copenhagen, and staying on for the trans-Atlantic, Copenhagen to Port Canaveral, Florida (nearish Orlando). So far, most of the people in the other rollcall are doing the B2B too, as it makes for a great itinerary.

Join us!

We were considering doing a Canada/new England cruise in September 2011. But have been viewing all the roll calls for transatlantic cruises, a quick search of travelocity revealed this cruise for cheap. My partner and I have been dying to go to Amsterdam, and this would be the perfect opportunity (even if just for a day, least we can sample it and see if it's really what everyone talks about).

It does seem to be a very good price: 15 nights and 3 European ports before heading out. Nice. A lot of the cruises head out directly and the only stop is the Azores or Bermuda or Bahamas or .... so I like this one a lot. We'll already be on board, doing the 9-night Baltic Capitals prior to the positioning cruise. We'll be well ported and ready for the sea days!

It would be nice to have some company with us. :)

How about staying out of the casino and taking that saved money to book a second crossing. You could get on the Eclipse on Oct 30th for another nice cross the pond experience. Prices start at $999 on Eclipse......ya know ya wanna do it. ;):D

Ha! I'm wayyyyyyy to un-lucky to even use the ATM machine in the casino. I lived in the Las Vegas area for 4 months on a (thankfully temporary) job transfer in 1982 .. I couldn't make a roll of nickels last 5 minutes on the slots. I did last 3 hands at Blackjack, but I learned my limits early. Plus I just can't handle the smoke.

So I've already spent the money I've saved by not gambling, and I'll save the next cruise casino money for another crossing, but not this year. One next year is enough, so it will be 2012 or later. I convert from unemployment to retirement in March next year.....I have a feeling my unemployment checks are bigger than will be my pension checks, so my cruising opportunities may be limited until I can tap my 401k in another 5 years.

Meanwhile, I've got these booked cruises to look forward to. And it looks like there are 2 other gay couples so far on the T-A next year. Yay!!

To: Wingtips and All:

My partner Joe and I booked this back in October of 2010. An offer we couldn't refuse. We live less than 2 hrs from Port Canaveral, so its super convenient for us.

Hope we can share some meals and cocktails.

BTW if you've not booked your air yet, you may want to check Air Berlin. No idea how good they are but the price is attractive.

We'll see y'all in Copenhagen. We're just doing the transatlantic. Baltic Capitals is a great trip! I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Hi guys! Glad to have you joining us. Your welcome to join our main thread under Norwegian Roll Calls, September 20 Trans-Atlantic. I'm the keeper of the M&G list there. It's been quite an active roll call for over a year now. We are doing the B2B combining the Baltic and T-A.

We're doing frequent Flyer mileage awards on Alaska/American/British Airways to get the Europe. Air Berlin doesn't fly to the West Coast yet, but I'm sure others may benefit from your idea. They are a no frills carrier...we're going for the frills in Business Class this trip.

We're actually going to Oslo, Norway first, as my DH is of Norwegian descent and it's the one Scandinavian country not on our Baltic cruise. So we're going for a short sampling of his "roots". We're taking an overnight ferry from there to Copenhagen. Can't get enough time on the water!

You guys make the Th pair of men we're aware of on this cruise. And there are a couple traveling with their mothers. ;) So we might have a nice FOD group too.

We're aware of Air Berlin's no frills, and it's fine with us. It's helpful that they have ONLY 1 way fares when we are repositioning.Sitting on airplanes for 9-10 hours isn't easy no matter what class you fly.

Haven't done NCL since "Norwegian Dream"; how do they arrange FOD? (LGBT M&G)?

I appreciate your acknowledgement. Since we are 7 months away, I was delighted to get a response.

I agree with your comments about the itinerary. TOTALLKY looking forward to this cruise.

NCL had published a FoD meeting in the Freestyle Daily, which is how we found out about it on Jade. They didn't pick a very good time, but those who showed up eventually requested a different time. However it wasn't a very good group, so it fell apart. The only guys we thought we're nice didn't show until the last night. It was disappointing after having great groups on several Princess cruises. I doubt it was NCL and more just not a great bunch of guest. But then NCL didn't have any representation...just posted the time and let us show up and guess who else was in the bar for the "meeting".

But since I'm coordinating the Meet & Greet for the Cruise Critic group, I may also put a bug in the NCL ear if we get more interest from our brother travelers, that we would certainly want them to at least post a time and place if not also augment it with some family cruise staff.

Anyway, I'm about to post the current M&G list in the main thread for this cruise.... do you want to be added to it?
