Whci side for better afternoon sun

Cruising from San Juan to San Diego through the canal, which side of the ship aft would allow for more afternoon sun on balcony (im guessing the right side if you're facing the front of the ship...but Im getting confused as heck with port and starboard reading through old posts)

Thanks

Once you leave the Canal and in the Pacific heading to San Diego, the left side, facing forward will receive the afternoon sun. This of course while the ship is underway, while the ship is in port it could be on either side.

A little memory hook.... port=left. Both are four letter words that end in "t.":D
