Prince Albert II and clothing for the High Arctic

We'll be doing the Tromso - Reykjavik Aug 22 expedition and are thinking about cold/wet weather clothes. We understand from a previous post that wellies (gum boots) are provided as long as you don't require an unusual size and that all guests are given a suitable jacket.

Flights to/from Australia are not the issue but on the Copenhagen-Tromso (SAS economy) and then Reykjavik-Frankfurt (Icelantic Air economy) sectors we are limited to 20kg luggage each. So we need to be efficient in our packing - since we are skiers we have lots of cold weather stuff (hats, gloves, thermal underwear, etc) as well as hiking boots and poles. As far as expedition pants go - we are planning to bring our waterproof hiking over-pants but these are not lined so we'll need something underneath. (Of course we'll be fully loaded with cameras, tripod, binoculars, laptop, etc etc - 10kg at least which hopefully will fit in our backpacks). Our packing is further complicated as we will be in Europe for 8 days prior and 12 days post the cruise (southern Germany) so will need lightweight stuff as well).

So experts - any advice would be welcome. What is essential and any other suggestions.

Thanks in advance.
