aislynmae Posted April 22, 2010 #1 Share Posted April 22, 2010 We just returned from our S. Caribbean cruise. St Croix was our last day:( When you get off the ship there are shuttles that run to Valley Church Beach for $6.00pp round trip. Nice A/C large vans. They take you right to the resort. We had made reservations, so they had us listed. for $20.00 we got 2 chairs, umbrella, 2 rum punches. use of the pool, bathrooms, bar, restaurant. Our friends ate lunch there, and said it was great! had pizza, and fish tacos. very reasonable. We really enjoyed this day, as it was just very relaxing. they had a guy that rented snorkel gear for $5.00. There were some rocks right in front of where we were sitting, but a bit down, none. We had done enought shopping, so just wanted to chill. There were lots of vendors back at the port, selling all kinds of stuff, and a small mall thing where we bought Cruzan rum for $8.75 ea, back here it sells for $20.00. We were able to bring back on the ship as it was the last day. WHOA! :D

Seavoyage Posted May 7, 2010 #3 Share Posted May 7, 2010 Aislynmae - Thank you for your review!:) Did you snorkel there? How was it? Also how long was the ride from the port? Thank you in advance for your kind reply.
Rare printingchick Posted May 10, 2010 #4 Share Posted May 10, 2010 If you don't care about the beach umbrellas and just want chairs, you can do so for $5/pp. You still get free use of the facilities, but no complimentary "Welcome" drink. We didn't snorkel on our visit because there had been a storm which robbed the beach of a large percentage of their beach. Some resort guests told us the beach had been MUCH wider just days earlier. The newly narrow beach (it may be back to normal by now), made it a very rocky area and the current was very strong from the storm. The resort staff recommended not swimming, although some people did so. We used the pool and the beach, but didn't swim in the ocean. It was a very nice, very relaxing and very inexpensive day. Thank you in advance for your kind reply. You don't have to make reservations, but we did. You don't have to pay in advance. Ride from the port is probably five minutes. If you don't have a lot to carry, you could probably even walk there. You can easily see the ship from the beach. Transportation cost is $3/each way. The Islander Posted June 5, 2010 #6 Share Posted June 5, 2010 ... there are shuttles that run to Valley Church Beach ... There are beaches on St. Croix that get called a few different names so just double checking since I haven't heard of that one before... was that name the driver told you or is it a typo? --Islander

The Islander Posted June 7, 2010 #8 Share Posted June 7, 2010 Ok thanks, sort of figured it was an error or typo but just wanted to double check. --Islander
