having sailed on most of the Thomson fleet, The Island Breeze, Sapphire, Destiny and Celebration and The Spirit I was looking forward to the Dream, and was not disappointed, she is a beautiful ship. lvely lounges, large airy dining room, and beautifull theatre with excellent sound system, not blaring and claustriphobic like some. yes we did have some delays, and the booarding was a problem but after the events of past week relieved to get on board. our cabin was spacoius and every thing worked, only used tv for news , too much else to do to find time to watch tv. Went to the usual quizzes, even won a few. plenty of good books in library and excellent show team, many having been on previous ships including two from The Balmoral last year, they use the same agency for the show team. Ate mainly in the Orion restuarant, Lobsters, Beef Wellington, and Chateau Briand being a few dishes on offer, and some excellent sugar free puddings as well. There was the usual melamine plates and bowls with some brightly coloured mugs in the self service cafeteria, but if you looked by the coffee machine you would have seen a notice explaining why, and these where probaly in herited from Costas

along with the art work and artifacts decoring the ships lounges and walls, what with the quizzes in evenining, show and cabaret and casino to visit often hard to find time to dine. as usual staff hard working and very helpfull, only wish more had been made of the fact it was the inaugral cruise but owing to the fatal accident prior to the take over from Costa, it was more low key than planned. Hope to sail on her again later in year, so back to work and start saving.wa hoping the volanco might start up again so could stay a bit longer.....

We were original booked on the Island Escape but after all the bad reviews from the Christmas cruise and this being our first cruise we decided to transfer to the Dream.Fingers crossed things will start getting better.
