Back to Back Cruise on Sprit

What is the policy on Back to Back Cruises on the same ship, the Norwegian Sprit? Consider going on a Canada cruise from Quebec to Boston and then a Carribbena cruise from Boston to New Oreleans on the same ship. Is this possible or does the Jones Act prevents this.

Presumably the Caribbean cruise will be calling at a distant foreign port such as Aruba or Curacao...otherwise NCL, as a foreign-flag carrier, could not offer it. So...the restrictions of the PVSA would not apply. Also, the first leg of the cruise originates in Canada, not the US, so again the PVSA restrictions don't apply. (PVSA is Passenger Vessel Services Act...frequently misidentified as the Jones Act)

This has nothing to do with a Back to Back. Your question is about Boston to New Orleans. If they are offering this cruise, there is no problem.

Right?

The Jones Act will not effect your back-to-back cruise as long as the Repositioning cruise to New Orleans makes its port of call in Colombia or Aruba as scheduled, (the remote foreign port). That's the one port of all the ports on the cruise the Captain of the ship will want to make most. Skip that one port and the Reposition cruise leg would violate the Jones Act.

There are a couple of people on our repo cruise in October that are doing a back to back to back cruise. THey are starting out in Boston and doing the Canada cruise, and staying onboard for the cruise back to Boston, and staying for the repo cruise to Nawlins...

This has nothing to do with a back to back. The 2nd cruise mentioned is a legitimate cruise that is being offered for booking. NCL would not be offering a cruise that would violate said laws.

The fact that you had gone from Quebec to Boston has nothing to do with anything.
