4th of July travel date

We will be sailing out of Ft. Lauderdale on July 4th 2010 on the Solstice and was wondering if Celebrity has any special activities on holidays?

 

(Red, White and Blue, fireworks, etc....)

If you have sailed with Celebrity (7 day) during the 4th of July in the past, are there many kids? (I have 3 kids)

I sailed on the 4th one year and the only thing they did was play the national anthem at the pool. Nothing special but that was many years ago. Also, on the 4th you should have loads of kids on the ship.

 

Did you join the roll call for your cruise as that might give you an idea of how many kids.

Slightly OT...

I always chuckle about the 4th of July thing...

A few years back we did a 13 night cruisetour on Celebrity Summit...starting on July 3...

My wife asked if they'd have fireworks for us...

I said "no...definitely no"

She said "How can you be so sure?"

I laughed...

We were flying to FAIRBANKS, ALASKA on July 3...

Anyone ever been to Fairbanks, Alaska on the Fourth of July?

Fireworks won't work because it is BRIGHT DAYLIGHT 24 hours around the clock!

 

Of course, different for you...You'll be in Florida...

What time does the ship embark? Maybe you can see some fireworks back on shore?

 

We have cruised July 4 before and never recall much special...

We have been in Juneau for the 4th of July and they had a wonderful hometown parade. It was lots of fun.
