felixdrylock Posted May 3, 2010 #1 Share Posted May 3, 2010 I found a good picture tour of Great Stirrup Cay that seems to be recent and informative: picture tour (three pages, lots of good pics): http://www.beyondships.com/NCL-GreatStirrupCay.html island map (PDF): http://www.beyondships.com/files/NCL_Great_Stirrup.PDF excursion list with prices (PDF): http://www.beyondships.com/files/NCL...rrup_shore.PDF things I took note of: 1) they had jet skis all set up on the dock, but it doesn't seem jet-skis were an excursion option. They're already on the dock, it doesn't seem like a difficult undertaking to get them up and running. 2) eco-tour isn't for me, but if you've got a family or just want to have a passive experience, the $40 for one hour tour MAY be worth it. 3) $85 for 5-7 minutes of parasailing for 2 people? WAY too short of a time period for $85. 4) pizza at the buffet :) 5) if your kids (or the kid inside of you) wants to use the hippo slide, consider booking online for $15 instead of the $20 charged on the island. 6) big machine on the island getting work done to build a marina

jollycruise Posted January 8, 2011 #3 Share Posted January 8, 2011 NCL does offer the wave runner excursion. We had one booked but changed it to the kayak excursion. The wave runner tour left the same time we did and it looked like everyone had a great time.
TravlGrl Posted June 18, 2011 #4 Share Posted June 18, 2011 Fantastic pictures! Thanks for posting! I realize this thread is pretty old, but I'm wondering if anyone can tell me if the island has indeed been improved, and if there is only one beach area for swimming. On some of the other private islands, the swimming beaches are sprinkled around the island. If this is the case now on Great Stirrup Cay, I'm curious where the options are on the island, and where a good spot might be that isn't among the "masses". Thoughts?
