Ruins & Beach break tour

We will be in Cozumel in June on the Valor. My family of 5 has never been there, and would like to see the ruins, and the beach. We are considering the Ship tour to the San Gervasio Ruins and the beach. Has anyone taken this tour? Do you know which resort the tours takes you too? Will we have time to walk around some of the shops?

There are shops at Puerta Maya pier with the usual tourist stuff you'll see downtown in the plaza/waterfront, including a mini Los Cinco Soles. A lot of beach breaks from ships go to Playa Mia or Playa Bella Vista/ Sunset Beach. Given their locations relative tot he ruins, I say the later two(next to each other) would most likely be your beach. The ruins are not all that spectacular. If you haven't seen Maya ruins, or have younger children with you, these will suffice to fill your curiousity. I believe the Valor stops in Belize and this is a better port to tour ruins at Altun Ha or Xunatunich, but these are longer tours leaving little time to do other things.
