wrk2cruisesoon Posted May 5, 2010 #1 Share Posted May 5, 2010 There are 6 of us coming in the day of our cruise. Do you think it is best to just take the RC shuttle from the airport to the ship or to take private transportation. If we take private transportation, can anyone recommend a company? Thanks! BobT172 Posted May 6, 2010 #2 Share Posted May 6, 2010 A taxi to the port from FLL is about $15 plus a tip. It is about 10 minutes away. Take two taxis. I'm sure it will be quicker and cheaper than relying on a transfer that will wait until a bus gets full. And besides, for a ship transfer or private company, you will pay by the person. BTW, you must trust the airlines and weather alot to fly in the day of the cruise. More and more folks have learned to fly in the day before and enjoy an afternoon and evening in Fort Lauderdale then be all fresh (and on time) for embarkation. Jim B Posted May 6, 2010 #3 Share Posted May 6, 2010 I agree just take two taxi's OR if you can see one they do have mini van taxi which would work for you. When you go outside from baggage claim check at the taxi stand. Our last time cost $15.00 which included the tip! Van would be a few dollars more but if all 6 of you can ride in one much cheaper overall. It is only about a 10 to 15 minute ride from the airport to the port so even if you have to put luggage on the floor in front of you it is no big deal. RuthlessBunny Posted May 7, 2010 #4 Share Posted May 7, 2010 I agree, taxi. You can have the taxi stop at Publix for soda and sunscreen!
