Equinox European formal nights

Without knowing your specific itinerary [there are several variations], and given that the Mediterranean season is just starting, it's impossible to give you a definitive answer...

I did a 14 Night Ancient Empires cruise on Equinox last fall... For us, the formal nights were on our first full day at sea following embarkation from Rome [which, for us, was the day immediately following departure from Rome in route to Haifa], on our last full day at sea prior to our return to Rome [which, for us--we were in Naples the day before our arrival back in Rome--was the day before we arrived in Naples], and on a third full sea day which, for us, occurred exactly mid-cruise [we were between Alexandria and Santorini]...

If you look at your specific itinerary, you'll probably be able to make some fairly educated guesses as to when formal nights will occur...

You can be relatively confident that formal night will not, in any case, occur on the day prior to cruise conclusion in Rome even if it is a full sea day; folks are packing to debark the next morning... And you should know that formal nights sometimes occur, if days at sea don't fall quite right in terms of spacing them out, on a port day [particularly one with a relatively early departure time]...

We had two full days in Israel [in our case, the ship moved from Haifa to Ashdod overnight; some of us left in the first port and rejoined at the second] and two full days in Egypt [the ship docked in Alexandria overnight; hundreds of people stayed off-ship in Cairo or Luxor]... Those are particularly long, exhausting tour days [and in fact, the whole itinerary is quite port intensive with the vast majority of guests off-ship touring; some ports are, however, clearly more demanding than others] and will not--I expect--be formal nights in any case...

It was the trip of my lifetime... Enjoy!
