Gabrielle R. Posted May 9, 2010 #1 Share Posted May 9, 2010 WE will be going to Skagway in June. There are 6 ships in port when we are tehre. Recommendations for what to do in Skagway? I am a history teacher, so of course I love history... My DH likes activity, bu tof course he will do whatever I want- nice guy:D I guess favorite things to see & do would be great. Is it better to book through the ship (We are on the Coral [Princess]) Thanks for any advice! Gabrielle
Budget Queen Posted May 10, 2010 #2 Share Posted May 10, 2010 You need to look over a shore excursion list and narrow down your interests, there are hundreds of tour options. With the "history" comment, the White Pass RR is loaded and significant for history in Skagway. There are several train options to consider, with the "most" history option, being the Lake Bennett train. Can do this independent, which is superior for smaller groups and likely more stops. Also, stop in to the Park Service visitor center for a look.
