Karen Lynn Posted May 10, 2010 #1 Share Posted May 10, 2010 Anyone know the best way to get there from the PB Hotel? Also, most reasonable and reliable transportation from the Venice AP to the Hotel? Thanks!
euro cruiser Posted May 10, 2010 #2 Share Posted May 10, 2010 They have very good directions on the hotel web site (http://www.palacebonvecchiati.it/location.htm): How to reach us By Plane From Venice's "Marco Polo" Airport (13 km) Water roads. Take the shuttle from the airport to the wet dock, where you can take a private water taxi that will get you in about 40 minutes directly to the hotel, or get a motorboat from the Alilaguna line to Rialto. After docking, please see the detailed route on the map in PDF format: http://www.palacebonvecchiati.it/pdf/venice_map.pdf Land Roads. Take the ATVO shuttle to Venice - Piazzale Roma, and from there you can continue via water taxi, which takes you in 15 minutes directly to the hotel, or lines 1 and 2 of the public steamboat service that get to Ponte di Rialto in 15 minutes, from where you can get on foot to the hotel in about 3 minutes. After docking, please see the detailed route on the map in PDF format (above). The most sensible of these alternatives, in my opinion, is the Alilaguna boat to Rialto. It's the orange (arancia) line on this map: http://www.alilaguna.it/linee.en.html. The fare per person is 13 Euro and it takes just under an hour. The timetable is here: http://www.alilaguna.it/lineaarancio-eng.html The Europe for Visitors web site has good, detailed information on getting from the airport to Venice, with pictures: http://europeforvisitors.com/venice/articles/arriving_in_venice_by_air.htm The Venice Link web site offers a shared taxi that is more affordable than a private one: http://venicelink.com/index.php?lang=english
