Manzanillo Beach Resort - Carnival Spirit

We are on the Carnival Spirit for March 8. Have heard that you can take a cab to the Brisas Las Hadas and use their beach/resort for $25 per person and the resort is great. Heard it is next to the hotel used by Carnival for their shore excursion, but is much better. We have two boys (8 and 11) who would love a "fun" swimming pool, etc. Anybody been on the Carnival offered shore excursion? If so, what is your opinion? Anybody been to Las Hadas? If so, what is your opinion. Cost is not a major factor.
