shadsy Posted May 10, 2010 #1 Share Posted May 10, 2010 We are booked on our 1st P&O cruise on 12/06/10 on the Oceana after previously cruising with Thompson and have found this forum very helpful with some of our queries. There is only one question I have remaining :- What is the dining protocal for the first evening sailing. Do you sit at your allocated table (we have booked club dining 8-30pm) or is it the same as on the Thompson cruises where on the first night it is more like freedom dining you can dine anytime between 6-30pm and 8-30pm and are allocated your seats by the staff, same as breakfast and lunch. Getting really excited now.:) Thanks for all the tips you experienced cruisers have given to us novices.:)
BrianI Posted May 10, 2010 #2 Share Posted May 10, 2010 You will find a card in your cabin giving your table number, restaurant and sitting so yes you sit at your allocated table. If you wish to change your requirements the head waiter is always in the restaurant from 3pm to deal with any queries. Brian
Cruise Socrates Posted May 10, 2010 #3 Share Posted May 10, 2010 Also the first night is always casual, so you dont have to worry about dressing up or anything. And Oceana has a lovely buffet restaurant so if you want to dine later/ earlier then your seating time you will find lovely food in the buffet as well.
