LN50 Posted May 12, 2010 #1 Share Posted May 12, 2010 Has anyone been affected by the Ash cloud on Seabourn arranged flights? just wondered what they would do. We are waiting to hear what will happen about the BA flights they are having sevaral days of strike action which will affect Heathrow, just as we are flying out and returning, currently waiting to hear from Seabourn. Has anyone had similar experiences? what do Seabourn do? I was impressed that my TA was on the phone before 11am the day after the strikes were reported in the media. I am hoping it will be ok do not want to be stuck at airport.
lifelover Posted May 13, 2010 #2 Share Posted May 13, 2010 When we were onboard for the April crossing, guests who had arranged flights through Seabourn were told that they would have four days in a local hotel whould their flights be cancelled because of the vocanic ash. Very nice of Seabourn. Our flight on British Air was cancelled due to engine problems (after four hours on the tarmac) and BA bussed us to the Lisbon Marriot, provided dinner and breakfast and a free international phone call. BA sent us a message via our room television that they had provided a next day flight and gave us the time. We found BA to be very helpful. shedridt Posted May 14, 2010 #3 Share Posted May 14, 2010 And STILL Seabourn contacted our TA to try to help if we were stranded. I call that real service!!! As we made our own arrangements our TA couldn't tell Seabourn about our status - & we'd never ever have thought to ask Seabourn for help - so this outreach confirmed in our minds that Seabourn is very very VERY good. We'll stick with them in the future.

TA called again yesterday to let us know that Seabourn have alternative flights on hold in case BA do not fly. I am so pleased with their service. Lets hope we make it :)
