Does Bonaire close up on New Year's Day?

I will be on the Emerald Princess on their next New Year's cruise. It will be in Bonaire on New Year's Day. Does Bonaire close everything up on New Year's?

We were just there on Mothers Day, a Sunday....Most of the dive shops where closed as were many of the other shops..Even the only market closed at noon... I was told is because it was a holiday they would need to pay the employees double so most stay closed...

But we still had a good time by taking a water taxi the island for some good sun, sand and snorkling...Have fun, we do..:)
