Mariner questions

Recommended Posts

Setting sail on 5/23 on Mariner (Mexican Riviera itinerary) and had a couple of questions.

1. Is there a deck, like maybe the promenade deck, that goes all the way around outside? I know there's a jogging track, but we also like to power walk around one of the lower decks outside. (Princess has this on some of their ships)

2. I've heard there can be long lines for cabs to get back to the airport on disembarkation day. Has anyone found getting a cab difficult at the San Pedro port? We have a relatively early flight home from LAX and would like to get to the airport as quickly as possible. I'm rethinking using a shuttle service. If anyone has advice, I'd appreciate it.

Deck 5 goes almost all the way around, just forward of where you would step out of the forward elevator lobbies are stairs that lead up to the helipad at the front of the ship. You can make a whole circuit if you don't mind going up and down a flight of stairs, otherwise cut thru the stair/elevator lobby.

We used Super Shuttle to get to the airport and the wait was negligible. we used the luggage valet service so we had only our carry on luggage to transport which was good because the other passengers in the van pretty much filled it with luggage.

We are using another shuttle service for your same sailing - it is Prime Time Shuttle. We made the round trip reservations on-line. Used them last time we sailed Mariner and everything went smoothly. Total cost round trip for the two of us is $64.

There is a thread for this sailing at the "Meet & Mingle" section. Come on over and visit and be sure to sign up for the free M&M party.

Mariner is a great ship - you will just love her.....big and beautiful too.

Good luck.

We used Super Shuttle last week. If you google Super Shuttle coupon codes you can get a discount code to use when making your reservation. We paid $56. for both of us. Our travel agent also had a discount code. It was the same discount as ours.

It was very easy to get a taxi at San Pedro, in fact, I think it was one of the easiest ports. They were very organized, you gave your name to the person in charge at the taxi station, and they called your name when it was your turn. We had to wait about 15 minutues and it was about $55.00 plus tip.

As was posted earlier there is a complete circuit around the ship on deck 5, and the stairs are located near the helipad. The stairs help make the workout a little more complete for my wife and I, we tend to power walk around to the stairs and then double time it up the stairs.
