shoppergirl10 Posted May 13, 2010 #1 Share Posted May 13, 2010 We are looking into a Christmas cruise either Nordam, Maasdam, Amsterdam or Ryndam. My kids will be 10 & 7. We cruised on Royal Caribbean Freedom of the Seas last year and they had a ball, mostly because the kids programs were outstanding. Any coments on the kids progamming on HA and/or which of the above ships would be best for us? Will there be enough other kids to make it enjoyable but not to be overrun by them? Thanks for any help you can provide. :)
jhannah Posted May 14, 2010 #2 Share Posted May 14, 2010 There is Club HAL for kids on Holland America ships, and the Christmas sailings will have more kids than usual. However, HAL ships do not have the amenities that Royal Caribbean has, like rock climbing walls, skating rink, wave runner, etc. Frankly, I think your kids will be disappointed. RMLincoln Posted May 14, 2010 #3 Share Posted May 14, 2010 We took 3 grandkids on Volendam, ages 10, 13, 16. They had a great time but had nothing to compare it to as it was their first cruise. They were excited to be with us and enjoyed both children's Clug HAL activities as well as activities with us. What types of activities are they looking for to make it a good time for them?
