crusinmama06 Posted May 14, 2010 #1 Share Posted May 14, 2010 Has anyone done this???? I just noticed on a roll call someone talking about trying this. So I had to come here and check with my favorite peeps. :D Its at Chankanaab Park and Dolphin Discovery. This seems like fun. My hubby loves manatees! Scrapchick Posted May 14, 2010 #2 Share Posted May 14, 2010 Well, we did the Swim With Dolphins program there in April and about ten minutes was spent in the pool with the manatees, feeding them, touching them, learning about them. However, there was no swimming with them, like there was with the dolphins.
CeleBrat Posted May 14, 2010 #3 Share Posted May 14, 2010 Ummmm...I would pass on this. Have you ever seen a manatee? They're HUGE. Not at all something that would seem like it would be fun to interact with. Let us know how it goes, if you do this. CeleBrat
kitty9 Posted May 14, 2010 #4 Share Posted May 14, 2010 Manatees are the most gentle of aquatic animals. They are absolutely lovely creatures
crusinmama06 Posted May 14, 2010 Author #5 Share Posted May 14, 2010 CeleBrat! HAHAHAHAHA! You made me laugh. Yes, I considered that. They are huge. 1300lbs to be exact. Well, we are OUT because my little one is not 3'11" tall which is the height requirement for the excursion :( Someone pass the miracle grow ;)

illinoismomof4 Posted May 14, 2010 #8 Share Posted May 14, 2010 thats what we are doing in Aug, we are swimming with the dolphins then the manatees and we through in the sealions too. The park is not far from the port and about 10.00 for 4 for a cab ride. I did a lot of research on this and booked it my self
crusinmama06 Posted May 15, 2010 Author #9 Share Posted May 15, 2010 The height requirement was listed on the Park's web site, not the cruise line's ;) So I was planning on grabbing a taxi and going out there one our own. But our little Shorty Mc Short Short will have to take a pass on this one -- for at least one year. :)
