PittsburghGirlee Posted May 22, 2010 Author #27 Share Posted May 22, 2010 Thanks for stopping by our roll call to tell us about your review! :)We are debating about staying in South Beach when we cruise on Liberty. Was this hotel on the beach? No, this hotel was not on the beach, it was in the middle of town. I believe the beach is a few blocks away. Great location for shopping and people watching. PittsburghGirlee Posted May 22, 2010 Author #28 Share Posted May 22, 2010 Hi from another Pittsburger who will be sailing on the Liberty next year. Everyone is talking about these prepackaged rum runners and see you have them too. Where do I get these little things at? I purchased mine on line. You can google to get the website. I think it was rumrummers dot com. She is a great ship and you will love her. It is still my favorite to date.

PittsburghGirlee Posted May 22, 2010 Author #30 Share Posted May 22, 2010 DINING This was the first time that we did Your Time Dining. This worked perfectly for our group. On previous cruises we have done Early and Late seating. Now, having tried all three, YTD wins hands down. Not one time were we given a pager. We were always sat immediately upon arrival. Our dining times ranged from 5:45, 6:30, & 7:00. CASINO What can I say, I like to gamble. When we arrived at our room, I was plesantly surprised to find that Carnival Players Club sent me a Fruit basket with a bottle of wine, 2 of the large bottles of water, 4 soda coupons and a coupon for $15.00 towards a photo purchase. On the first night I went to the casino and asked for the casino hostess. Her name was Karla. I introduced myself and thanked her for all of the gifts. If you are wondering how I got these "gifts", I simply called Carnival, I can't remember which department, and told them that I would be cruising again. They asked for my Booking Number and sail date. I have to tell you that I did not expect as much as we received. It was a very nice gesture and was very greatful. PORTS OF CALL Cozumel - Nachi Cocom, as previously posted with pics, this was the only excursion that we did. The shopping at Cozumel was the best. I am a Silver jewerly junkie and purchased some of the most beautiful jewerly at a very reasonable cost. Grand Cayman - We did not get off of the ship at this port. We chose to just hang out on the ship poolside which we hugely enjoyed. It was like having our own private yacht. Also, I am not a fan of tending, even though it was just a short 20 minutes. Jamaica - More shopping..... Every 50 feet someone was asking if you wanted a taxi, to go on an excursion, if you wanted your hair braided or some hooch:D. I expected this from what I have read on the threads, so we simply and politely repeated, No Thank You. Just a hint, when you get off of the ship, walk on the left side as if you are coming back to the port. All of the vendors are on the right side where the high traffic of people are walking. DEBARKATION Quick and painless. We had a late flight out of FLL, so we waited for the last call to exit the ship .... BOO HOO..... That was around 9:45am. We were on our way to the airport by 10:30. We loved the Liberty. The staff were fantastic everywhere we went. The food was great, espically since I did not have to cook. It is beyond me how anyone cannot enjoy a cruise. I am already looking for our next.
