ActiveTraveler Posted May 20, 2010 #1 Share Posted May 20, 2010 Just thinking of different scenarios here . . . What if a cruise starts or ends in Nice or Monte Carlo? Can I add Paris by riding a train or is that not feasible from the cruise ship ports? Is any French port or Monte Carlo worth staying an extra day at or can I see everything in 9-10 hours? Susan-M Posted May 20, 2010 #2 Share Posted May 20, 2010 The French Riviera is a beautiful area to visit, and worthy of an extended stay. It's also easily accessible to Paris, so a pre or post cruise stay there would work as well. Here's a link to some info on transportation (see the sections on planes and trains): http://wikitravel.org/en/Monte_Carlo Also recommend Rick Steves guidebooks: http://www.amazon.ca/Rick-Steves-Provence-French-Riviera/dp/1598802887
