dhawkins Posted May 20, 2010 #1 Share Posted May 20, 2010 Can someone tell me what they believe to be the best beach in Belize for a cruiser?
marshhawk Posted May 20, 2010 #2 Share Posted May 20, 2010 You've had lots of readers but no one has answered. They just don't want to break your heart. Belize has a wonderful barrier reef, third largest in the world, but it keeps surf from crashing into the mainland and with out surf, there is no beach. Go out to Goff's Caye and snorkel around, lovely island, or Bannister. You have to get to an island to get a beach. Sorry. But we had a great time at Goff's Caye!:D
dhawkins Posted May 20, 2010 Author #3 Share Posted May 20, 2010 That's fine, island I don't care, just need to know where to find the beach.
marshhawk Posted May 20, 2010 #4 Share Posted May 20, 2010 In that case check out either the Caye, or Bannister(last I checked some cruise lines still listed this as an excursion). Goff's caye is primitive. A walk up hut if you need a drink, and bring cash, and they strongly urge you not to swim too far to the left of the pier. Rip tides:eek:/ But great beach!:)
RoadTripFanatic Posted May 21, 2010 #5 Share Posted May 21, 2010 It's true Belize has no beaches except for one man made one that cost $$$. I would second Geoff's Cay. You snorkel for a bit out over the reef than you head to a private island. The island has a very nice relaxing beach. :)
