Carnival in the Movies

Over the weekend my daughters and I watched the movie Mannequin (great 80s movie!). In one of the sceens, they had a Carnival life preserver.

It was really cool to see it! It got me thinking, what other movies have a Carnival reference in them?

Please add to the list...

In "La Cage au Faules" with Robin Williams and Nathan Lane they drive by a Carnival ship In port on their way to South Beach. (sorry - ignorant American here - not sure how to spell in French ). Blush

I'm also guilty of watching "CSI Miami" daily (inspite of my hatred of David Caruso, LOL) and "Brooke Knows Best" (cheesy, I know) for the occasional glimpse of somewhere familiar downtown or a ship. And "First 48" (which I love), the Miami scenes are just bonuses.

I think the movie is "Gone in 60 seconds" Nick Cage, there was some filming on the bridge next to one of the ports Carnival uses in Long Beach, in the background you can see a Carnival ship.

"Up in the Air" Really well done movie and hystericaly funny. It's not really accurate, though. :p

George Clooney is on the way from the airport to the airport Hilton, but they are on the causeway from South Beach back towards town. Several Carnival ships in the background. Not only is the direction of travel and area wrong, you can tell they filmed on different days as there's more than one class of ship that is showing and the same class ones are facing different directions as the shot changes.

My DH is a big movie buff and says that only a cruise geek like me would notice this. :p

It was called "The Birdcage", no French required.
