biggirl69 Posted May 25, 2010 #1 Share Posted May 25, 2010 We (2 adults 40ish) are looking to book 1st cruise on Ventura, March 2011 transatlantic, need as much advice as we can get:), we we looking to book standard balcony, as we are at sea for 6 days crossing to Teneriffe wondered if anyone knows want weather would be like, assume it will be hot while in Caribbean. Is freedom dining the best option like the idea of eating when we like? Also is there a charge for room service? any other tips, hints or advice would be gratefully received. Happy cruising  Jo
tightwad Posted May 30, 2010 #2 Share Posted May 30, 2010 We were on Ventura around the Med in April and like you we had a standard balcony cabin and it was an ideal choice , room service is mainly free of charge , there are items available that do carry a charge but plenty of choice free of charge as well, we did room service a couple of times and it was a nice change . We also did freedom dining and as far as we were concerned it worked well for us , the flexibility of eating whenever suited us was perfect .You just turn up at the restaurant and if you are willing to share a table with others then you are seated straight away but you can also request a table for two and if they dont have one then they will give you a pager and they will call you when a table is available , we also did this a couple of times and the longest we ever had to wait was 15 minutes. Ventura is a great ship and i am sure you will love it , enjoy the cruise.
