June 3-5, Juneau, Native Celebration

For visitors in Juneau this coming week, there's a great opportunity to experience Alaskan Native culture with the biannual Celebration. The schedule is here.

For those wondering what to do in the evening or early morning, attending some dances would be an option. There'll also be a marketplace, so a chance to purchase authentic Alaskan made products.

For those with less time, there will be folks walking around downtown in regalia, going to McDonald's :D daily performances at Marine Park, a covered performance area on the wharf, and the must-see on Thursday morning, the Grand Procession through the streets. They will also process from the Mt. Roberts Tram to Centennial Hall on Saturday morning, so cruisers will be able to see them easily. Centennial Hall and the other venues are not far from the dock area.

If you're interesting in taking photographs, be sure to read the photography policy. This is a cultural event, not a show and those aren't costumes, they're regalia, so they request respect. But don't feel shy, it's open for all to attend!
