scubagirrl Posted May 28, 2010 #2 Share Posted May 28, 2010 Can anyone give me their opinon on this beach? Is it worth the money? I love this island.. always have a good time and always bring my friends when they are in town. Beach is wonderful, lots of chairs, stingrays to watch, decent food, good bar and great staff. mtslone Posted May 31, 2010 #3 Share Posted May 31, 2010 How long does it take to get from the cruise docks to the island? How crowded does this area get? Thanks!
scubagirrl Posted May 31, 2010 #4 Share Posted May 31, 2010 How long does it take to get from the cruise docks to the island? How crowded does this area get? Thanks! The boat ride is about 30 minutes. It's a large area, it can hold quite a few people. I've never felt "crowded". http://www.stingrayadventure.com/
goodtimescruisers Posted June 9, 2010 #5 Share Posted June 9, 2010 What times do the water taxis leave to head over to Blackbeards? What times do they return to the pier?
scubagirrl Posted June 10, 2010 #6 Share Posted June 10, 2010 What times do the water taxis leave to head over to Blackbeards? What times do they return to the pier? There are no water taxi's to Blackbeards. There are several tours that include Blackbeards. Each tour has it's own boat and schedule. Generally they leave at 9am and return around 12:30.. then again at 1 and return at 4:30pm. This is not a set schedule every day, you'll have to determine which tour you want to take and book with them. Some day's there is only 1 tour. Some days none. marshhawk Posted June 13, 2010 #7 Share Posted June 13, 2010 We loved Blackbeards. We went on a whim to snorkel for "treasure". The beach was very nice, we went on a rather blustery day, but the beach faces the mainland(so to speak), not the ocean, so our waves were very minimal compared to those on the ocean side. The catamaran cruise over to the island was a nice way to see the harbor, and some very interesting architecture. It was not crowded at all when we went. May have been an off day for tourists, or because it was quite cool, but it we really had a wonderful time.
