When are formal nights? (10 night cruise)

Does anyone know when the formal nights would be for a 10 night cruise? I've heard it could possibly be at sea days which would make it the 5th and 9th night for our cruise but I've also heard it can vary. Thanks for any help!

Usually the first night after embarkation is when they have the "Captains Welcome Aboard" party, and that's a formal night. The second one should be the next-to-the-last night.

Its not necessarily a sea day.
