Sunbathing on Glory aft balconies?

I'm looking at booking an aft balcony cabin (#7442/7447) on the Glory... I have seen some pictures of the balconies, but I can't tell if they really have enough exposure for sunbathing (yes, I know it matters which way the ship's going, but just in general) or if they're more for just sitting and relaxing. Thoughts? I'm not sure we'll be able to convince ourselves a balcony is worth the extra $$$ if we won't be able to sunbathe on it. Thanks!!!

Had a bal. (6456) on the Valor her sister ship and had no problems with sun bathing unless you are thinking nude then you are out of luck:o.

When are you planning to cruise for we will have cabin 7447 on our Dec 12 Glory cruise

we were in 7447 and had no problems actually enjoyed it a lot, peace and quiet had a small cd player with us for music and had our own libations in the room the bal is fantastic very large and roomy night time we would have a glass of wine or 2 and look at teh stars and watch the wake of the ship glow it's worth the $$ also the room was laid out so that it seemed bigger that the others we have been in.

the aft of the ship is somewhat slanted, so depending on the deck, they may have a higher exposure of sun than balconies on the side of the ship, as they're not FULLY covered from above...

however, if it's sunbathing that you're really looking for, i would recommend the spa deck (11) balcony cabins...

these used to be the 'family oceanview staterooms' with large floor to ceiling windows. anyhow, they converted them to balconies recently. they have very little overhang from above, given the conversion, and are quite sunny during the day...

that'd probably be the balcony with the greatest sun exposure, if that's what you're looking for.
