Skiathos Town/Island

Any suggestions for a day in Skiathos? If the town is attractive and has some places worth exploring we're happy to stay there - but failing that what are the best bits to see of the island? (Prefer to explore - not bothered about beaches.) Thanks.

Hi- we actually went to the beach last year as it was so hot! There were lots of boat trips from the tender quay around the island. The town itself is quite small, very pretty, lots ot tourist shops, bars and restaurants. I believe there are some nice countryside walks easily accessible from the town, and the little island in the harbour looked a nice place to explore.
