A friend said she looked at some website that shows which ships are in port on each day and said there are 15 ships in Livorno on July 14th. Does anyone know of a reputable website that I can confirm this with? Thanks.

Two free sites that I'm aware of:

http://cruisett.com/ports.php?PortID=210&date=23

http://www.cruisereport.com/PortsOfCall.aspx?port=972

(Choose "Ships in Port" in the link above the photo, and then the date.)

The Costa Marina isn't showing up on these sites & I think it is scheduled there on that date.

A pay site (haven't heard much about this site since it went from free to pay): http://www.cruisecal.com/portal/Calendars/Ports/tabid/404/Default.aspx

I wonder if the site your friend looked at showed freighters as well as cruise ships?

I went to cruisett and selected Ruby Princess and it showed that it was the only ship in port on July 14th. BUT then i selected ports and then Livorno and it only showed Costa Marina in port that day and I KNOW we are also in port????

I get those two different results also for CruiseTT ... if you use the link that I provide above, it shows Ruby Princess, but then if you go through the process from the ports link, it shows Costa Marina.

I think it's safe to say that Ruby, Marina and Seabourn Legend are in port ... and perhaps other European lines that aren't showing up on these sites, but likely not 15 cruise ships. I would ask your friend for the name of the site that she is using.

My experiece has been that cruisecal.com returns the most accurate reurns on ships in port. They do charge a nominal fee however. Quick search tells me what your friend say is totally inaccurate.
