Salerno : Best way to Capri? Can it be done?

I would love sopme help from someone who has been there. It looks like going from Salerno to Capri is difficult. Hydrofoils leave only at 8 and 8:40 am and return 4:30 and 5:30 pm. I'm told the trip takes 130 Min. one way. That means our departure at 7:00 pm is too close for any comfort.

How to go to Capri? Is it better to go by land to Sorrento or Naples. They have better Hydrofoil schedules? Or is it just wrong to try and go to Capri from Salerno with 12 hrs in port?

Any infomation would be appreciated. ;)

I think that, unless you are willing to spend a fair amount of money to hire a private boat to take you out and back, Capri may not be a great choice for a port stop in Salerno.

Lots of people dash down to the Amalfi Coast from Naples on a port stop, which takes quite a bit of time and money to do, while you'll be perfectly positioned to easily visit the AC from Salerno, why not take advantage of that?
