sherri3802 Posted June 19, 2010 #17 Share Posted June 19, 2010 I have been following that thread for a few weeks now, ever since I saw the link. In fact, I thought it was so good I posted a link on another messageboard (based in England). Imagine my surprise when one of the other long term boardies there posted that he knew the dark haired man in the first photo and it is an aussie. In fact, he last saw the man yesterday. He gave some name and a bit of background but I won't repeat it here. He then said it was a scam and his mate had mentioned this particular scam to him a few years ago. So.. I don't know. I did believe the thread, now I am not sure what is true and what isn't. I asked the man to check with his friend when next he contacts him, and just ask if this particular episode was a scam or not. His friend would not be the detective nor the man who 'lost' the camera. He would be the mate standing next to the man in the photo. If it is a scam, it is disappointing, isn't it.
