floating on a boat Posted June 4, 2010 #1 Share Posted June 4, 2010 I am booked on theT.A.on 24/06/2010. I do not write on the forum often but I feel that I have to express my views on what I term as Negative People! They moan about the location and privacy of the shower/toilet. They moan about the dividing curtain. They moan about the colour of the balcony glass. They moan about the Cirque Dinner. They moan about the size of the cabin. They moan about smoking/none smoking. They moan about this that and the other - in fact they moan about anything. Can I suggest they get a life - you're on holiday. Holidays are what YOU make it. Go with negative thoughts - you probably end up with a negative holiday. Every holiday or cruise I have been on I have enjoyed, no matter where it has been because that is what I do - ENJOY IT. Some people seem to set out "looking for a refund" - how sad! See you on the T.A. :);)

While they are being critical of things related to the cruise, you are actually being critical of other people....people you don't even know. What was it they said about throwing stones in glass houses? or .... in other words, lighten up.
ddakrt Posted June 4, 2010 #3 Share Posted June 4, 2010 This is a discussion forum, there wouldn't be much to discuss if everybody think the same way. That would be pretty boring actually... And while we're all moaning (ya, interesting lol), these are ships, not boats. ;)

floating on a boat Posted June 4, 2010 Author #5 Share Posted June 4, 2010 Boat or Ship - you know what I mean. Surely we cannot judge ammenities or facilities until we have experienced them 1st hand. Addmittably it wouldn't do for everybody to like the same things - but surely people should be more open minded until the product has been sampled? NYAustinGal Posted June 4, 2010 #6 Share Posted June 4, 2010 I've met people when I'm on a cruise who do complain about everything and it's sad, because they let it ruin their vacation. But that is their choice. I, for one, get on the ship and "so what" if everything is not perfect. It's vacation. Just enjoy. For the most part, you can't sweat the little stuff. It is what you make of it. I plan on enjoying the Epic this summer as much as I enjoyed POA last summer. I only get to do this once a year, so I try and shed my everyday stresses and get into "don't worry, be happy mode". And frankly, that is why I chose to cruise NCL again - because freestyle allows you to get into a "whatever, wherever, whenever" state of mind. Everyone, enjoy your trips! Make the most of it and come back and make us drool with information and pictures. :)

Words or thoughts aside, lets enjoy a one off exerience of a maiden voyage. ;)
Egret32 Posted June 5, 2010 #9 Share Posted June 5, 2010 Many people (me) get very uptight planning a trip and this escalates in both excitement and worry when you are going some brand new like an untested ship. From what I hear from other maiden voyagers, there will be lots of glitches and unfinished details on the ship. But, like many people (me), the minute I unpack my bags, I go with the flow. The sea breeze, the rocking boat, the distance from emails and beeping phones turns my bones to jelly and my brain to mush and I just kick back and go with the flow... Mostly it has been fun to speculate etc. There will be ups and downs and the rolling waves but I am expecting nothing less than to relax and enjoy steak, chicken or rice and beans. bcakes Posted June 5, 2010 #11 Share Posted June 5, 2010 I enjoy reading the variety of opinions on this forum. I don't think it's necessary to love every detail about a vacation to enjoy the trip and I wouldn't find these posts useful if people only presented a one-sided view of things. If there are things that are not to a poster's taste or that could use improvement, I like to hear about it. Personally, I think the tone of the Epic forum is extremely positive and I get excited for my cruise every time I come here.
