Vancouver Embarkation

We will be going on our first Alaska cruise on 8/10/05 from Vancouver on the Volendam. Since we live in Sacramento, it isn't that bad of a price to fly directly into Vancouver the morning of the cruise. I am hoping those in the know can help me with a few questions...

 

1. How long does it take to clear customs when flying into Vancouver airport?

2. How far away is the pier from the airport, and what is the best transportation mode to get there?

3. How early should we show up for embarkation?
