Cruise Loyalty Programs

Has anyone recently taken a Carnival Cruise Lines survey that focused on a scheme that would permit upper level members of one loyalty program (i.e. Captain's Circle on Princess) to enjoy the same upper level benefits of another loyalty program (i.e. Mariner Society on Holland America) as long as the sailing was with a cruiseline in the same family? I would love to see the survey results and would be very interested in the views of fellow Cruise Critic members. I like the idea as it opens up many different itineraries and the exposure to different cruise lines would enhance my vacation experience. Is there a downside to this plan?
