Camp Carnival Lanyards

Recommended Posts

OK I have a question that I have not see addressed here before....

The lanyards that have the plastic pockets for your S & S Card.......can the scanners at the registers and the scanner when you get on & off the ship, read through the plastic sleeve...or do you have to remove the card?

Taking DGD on next cruise and I really don't want her pulling her card out of the sleeve...

Unless they have changed the scanners, they have to insert the card into a scanner to read the info/see the picture. You might try getting the lanyard that has a hook clip on the end and punching a hole in the card. They used to punch the holes for you in the casino, but I haven't cruised since last year.

Gotta take them out....the card fits pretty snug into the machine (when getting on & off the ship)

At the register they just can look at the card and punch the numebrs in and you can leave it it.

You can go to the casino and have one of the "bungee type" lanyards put on them and they can swipe it with those type of lanyards....thats what we do and it works fine

On our last cruise, since DD was 10, I had her wear on of the lanyards that has a detachable bit on the end. Once the S&S card has been hole punched, you put it on the ring (or add a clip to the ring). Then you can just detach the card part when you need to exit / enter the ship. Here is the style - they sell them in the Cruise Critic shop. I bought some from IKEA for under $1.00.

We bought one of the camp carnival ones a few cruises ago, the one with the plastic pocket that you are referring to, and the plastic was not very strong so my son had it broken off within 2 hours anyway....thats when we went to the casino to get the bungee ones....and they are free

Thanks for the info. I didn't think the plastic looked very strong and the way they have the clip hooking onto the plastic, I figured she would loose it very quickly. I have the Cruise Critic lanyard and it is my favorite....guess I will give her one of those too!
