What do they do with the bodies?

I read before that in a group of 2,000 to 4,000 people, the chances of one or two deaths aren't too shabby. I heard that the ships actually have a secret code that they announce over the P.A. system... "Bright Start" or something.

So my question is what do they do with all of the bodies?

It has actually been asked many times. They have cold storage for bodies on all ships.

Well, I suppose one wouldn't care where one would be moved on a cruise ship should one become dearly departed, but I don't see the problem in asking the question.

It's common knowledge that every ship has a morgue. The big walk in freezers in the galley are where they store the bodies.

They're just playing with you and based on some recent comments over a post I made, they are being nice. There is a morgue on the ship for accommodating passengers who travel to the great beyond. I once heard that when a HAL ship returns from a long cruise it's not unusual to see a line of hearses at the pier. Not a very happy thought, but we all have to go sometime.

I do not think this is an uncommon event. When you have round the world cruises and older passangers I think it can be expected and the lines are prepared to handle it.

They have morgues on the ships which is certainly better than years ago when they actually cleaned out the freezers and used them. This was told to us by an assistant maitre'd on one of our cruises.

I have NEVER seen a line of hearses getting off an RCI ship. That just goes to show you the average age of a cruiser on HAL!!! :)

I've been on a couple behind-the-scenes tours. All the ships have a medical center and physicians, diagnostics, and a morgue. No brig or jaiil, though. At least that's what I've been told. If necessary, passengers are confined to their cabin with a security detail. And security cameras are all over the public areas!
