Hotels in Newark/Cape Liberty area

There are quite a few nice hotels near the airport. There's a Wyndham and a Sheraton. As well as a courtyard Marriott. Also there's the Hyatt, Candlewood Suites or Doubletree in Jersey City.

I don't know if any of these properties offer a shuttle to the pier, but if staying by the airport, it's not very far to the pier at all so I don't think a taxi would run too much.

Also, I've heard that the Crowne Plaza in Secaucus has a cruise passenger package which includes parking and shuttle to the pier. Hope this helps.

Hi There

Flying into Newark from Heathrow for a cruise on the Constellation in September.

Would appreciate advice on a good hotel with restaurant to stay overnight in the Newark/Cape liberty area.

regards

What time do you arrive into Newark? If you arrive in the morning, I would suggest you go to Manhattan and spend the day and evening. Then have the hotel arrange for you to get to the Port.Alot more exciting then spending the day in Newark.

We stayed in Jersey City. All three hotels listed are close to the train station that brings you right to World Trade Center area. Very nice and safe location. Then it's about a 20 minute ride to the Bayonne port.

I just remembered, there's a Courtyard Marriott in Jersey City too. As the other poster stared, they are all very near to the Path station which will take you into New York City. The trade center area as well as other parts of the City as well. Even Hoboken.

I have stayed at the Wyndham Newark Airport a few times when I had very early flights out. It is a nice hotel with a good restaurant in it called Shula's. They offer a free shuttle to the airport. They also have an indoor swimming pool which might be just the thing for stretching cramped muscles after a long flight.
