Gelbel Posted June 15, 2010 #1 Share Posted June 15, 2010 Hello, been on numerous cruises with numerous cruise lines - this'll be the first time with Fred. I want to know of the quality of the hairdryers on Braemar. It's a very girly question - can I leave my 'salon' hairdyer at home or are the ones in the cabins good for nothing? Are they the type you have to keep your finger on the button to make it work? If so, I'm packing mine. If anyone is interested we are doing Westwards To The Caribbean Cruise on 26 October. Our 3rd repositioning cruise - love that lazy week at sea doing NOTHING and gradually getting better and better weather.:D

Pikachui Posted June 20, 2010 #5 Share Posted June 20, 2010 Hi I have just come back from a week on the Braemar and only used the cabin hairdryer on the last evening when I'd packed my own. It was OK and did the job but only has 1 heat and speed setting and that 'hold your finger on the button' feature too. I was glad I had my own! PS - i was quite pleased there were enough sockets around the mirror area for straighteners/hairdryers without unplugging cameras charging and so on. In the older cabins these were both US & European. In the newer 'stretched bit of the ship', we had 3 European 2 pin sockets.
Gelbel Posted June 20, 2010 Author #6 Share Posted June 20, 2010 Thanks Pikachui. One of the first tips I was ever told about cruising was to take a small 4 gang extention lead. One now permanently lives in one of our suitcases.
