Woje17 Posted June 15, 2010 #1 Share Posted June 15, 2010 First princess cruise 1 week from today on the Ruby! Just wondering if sandals are ok in the dining room with khaki pants and a polo or must I wear shoes? Thanks! John
Jennygirl Posted June 15, 2010 #2 Share Posted June 15, 2010 This is my way of thinking...your feet are under the table. If the top half of you looks put together and you have a smile on your face - you're fine. That being said, nice sandals YES - ratty sandals - NO. L0L Enjoy your cruise - youre gonna love it. numbersix Posted June 15, 2010 #3 Share Posted June 15, 2010 Of course...especially in the Med...very Euro-looking. Not flip-flops, though IMHO. Just not on formal night;)! Kevin
1 HappyCruiser Posted June 15, 2010 #4 Share Posted June 15, 2010 I've seen people wearing sandals in the dining room even on formal evenings.
DonnaK Posted June 15, 2010 #5 Share Posted June 15, 2010 Sandals are just fine. However, rubber flip-flops are best reserved for the daytime.
numbersix Posted June 15, 2010 #6 Share Posted June 15, 2010 I've seen people wearing sandals in the dining room even on formal evenings. Hopefully they were strappy, with a very high heel!:p
Rare TracieABD Posted June 15, 2010 #7 Share Posted June 15, 2010 I wear strappy, high heeled sandals in the MDR, but I always make sure I have a fresh pedicure and that my sandals match my outfit! But, John, I don't think that was the answer you were looking for!:D Seriously, you will be fine with khakis and a polo and something descent on you feet. Chances are, noone will (or should) notice! Enjoy your cruise!!!:)

Doug R. Posted June 15, 2010 #10 Share Posted June 15, 2010 I have always worn nice leather sandals except on formal nites with a polo or camp shirt and khakis and never got a second glance or comment. They may not please the most narrow minded of the "dress code police" but I feel they fully fall in line with smart/resort casual. Oh yeah no socks please!
Feebarn Posted June 19, 2010 #11 Share Posted June 19, 2010 I wore both sandals (the sports kind) and shock horror crocs last week in the dining rooms of the Diamond Princess, no one batted an eyelid!

Why should they? They might not be fancy but they do qualify as shoes.

xeroxme Posted June 19, 2010 #14 Share Posted June 19, 2010 If you gonna wear sandals make sure you got clean, manicured feet. Nothing more gross than trying to eat with somebody's Giant Fungal growing toes starring at me. Sorry I have a weak stomach.
