Fire Doors down on Promenade?

Recommended Posts

Seems all is well. The fire door has just been lifted.

It is just me or does anyone else feel like we might be spending entirely too much time watching the Oasis, reading about the Oasis and counting down the days until we are ON the Oasis :D Maybe it's just me :p

Here is the train of thought on that one. I saw the doors down on the RP, so I immediately posted something on our roll call and within mere minutes there were a couple of threads on here about the very same thing. :D

And since you brought up your Roll Call board, I just got an email this morning that our M&M surpassed 25 people! Hooray! I checked and we're actually up to 29. :)

Congrats :) are y'all doing a cabin crawl, pub crawl and slot pull too?

I think we have 70 something signed up for our M&M. LOTS of peeps going on this cruise. We are also a chatty group at 20,509 posts :D It;s really fun to get to know people before you go on the cruise.

I actually find the onboard ship fire systems and other interior mechinacs fascinating! I loved how the Voyager and Freedom class promenade fire doors were made to blend in. All the mechnical locking doors all over the place is just neat. Alot to think about when creating the zones onboard. I wish someone would have gotten a screen capture of the Oasis promenade fire doors closed. I have yet to go onboard and look for that sort of stuff.

One of the most interesting things on my last cruise (Carnival Conquest) was a private tour of the fire safety equipment, except for the bridge, by the Ship's Safety Officer. It was set up by the friend who organized the trip, and we were shown how the zone system worked. Also covered how the crew was mobilized for fires.

There's talk of a cabin crawl. I'll be bringing that up again soon. What's a 'slot pull'?

Slots at the casino :) Not sure how it's set up but I will ask Kelcie on our cruise since she is setting all this stuff up :) For the cabin crawl we are thinking of charging $5 a head for people to come see our suite (extra if they have to use the bathroom) - ha ha ha ha ha :D (jk)

Wish somebody had gotten a grab. When we were on Liberty of the Seas several years ago they had one of the fire doors open during our Labadee day. Those doors are easy to figure out as they utilize a physical bridge track in order to fold out.

When we sailed on Oasis in January though I could no figure out the new system. They no longer have any of those bridges so any fire door must be even larger and more complex yet there did not seem to be any obvious spaces in the wall where things would fold out from as the Freedom/Voyager class had.

Smart and a good way to pay off the suite.

On Oasis you can see where the fire doors come across by the tracks in ceiling of the RP. In this photo it is inbetween the Cupcake Cupboard and Cafe Promenade. There is a second fire door further down.
