Announced online today by Cunard - not able to access itineraries yet as Cunard.co.uk is amazingly slow. Bookings open 15 July.

CUNARD’S 2012 WORLD AND EXOTIC VOYAGES

Cunard’s largest ever winter series of voyages will go on sale on the 15th July featuring two World Voyages and a series of Exotic Discovery Voyages. Longer Winter Voyages and full World Voyages continue to prosper despite tougher economic times and with Cunard Liners ideally suited to longer journeys, the 2012 programme has a number of innovative and appealing choices.

Cunard will celebrate the 90th anniversary of their first World Voyage on Laconia in 1922 by sending two of its ocean liners, Queen Mary 2 and Queen Elizabeth, around the world on very different journeys in 2012. Queen Victoria will offer a full Winter Season of Exotic Voyages taking in Panama Canal, Caribbean and her first ever Hawaii Christmas Voyage.

In terms of value for money, Queen Mary 2 will call at 31 ports in 19 countries across 108 days from £10,699– just £99 per day. Queen Elizabeth will call at 41 ports in 25 countries across 107 nights from £10,999 – just £103 per day.

Peter Shanks, Cunard President and Managing Director, says

“World Voyages deliver outstanding value for money when compared to other holiday experiences. There is a growing desire for adventure and exploration, Cunard’s World Voyages deliver just that – but at the same time provide the best in luxury and sophistication no matter where the ships may be.

“To arrive in ports like Cape Town, Sydney and Hong Kong on a Cunard Liner is an experience that no other cruise line can match – often with many thousands of boats and onlookers giving our guests unique and memorable experiences.

“With the addition of Queen Elizabeth to the Cunard fleet, we are able to offer a wider range of destinations than ever before. As well as their full World Voyages, both Queen Mary 2 and Queen Elizabeth will offer a wide range of shorter sectors joining up famous cities around the world. Queen Victoria endorses that choice with shorter and more affordable voyages to destinations like Hawaii and Panama Canal”.

Highlights of the programme include:

Queen Mary 2

• Departs Southampton on 10 January 2012 on a 108 night World Voyage which calls at 31 ports and 19 countries. Fares start from £10,699.

• Includes 22 night inaugural Sydney – Sydney ‘Circle Australia’ voyage (calling at Brisbane, Whitsunday Islands, Yorkeys Knob, Darwin, Bali, Fremantle, Adelaide and Melbourne).

• Opportunity to sail out and back to Australia, spend three weeks with friends and relatives in Australia, then sail home to Southampton.

• Visits to Japanese Ports of Hiroshima, Osaka and Nagasaki

• Popular Overnight stays in Cape Town, Hong Kong and Dubai.

• Range of shorter holiday sectors joining up key cities around the world.

Queen Elizabeth

• Departs Southampton on her second World Voyage on 10 January 2012. This 107 night voyage calls at 41 ports in 25 countries and is a traditional west-about voyage. Fares start from £10,999.

• Popular Overnight stays in Sydney, Hong Kong and New York.

• Strong Far East content including Ho Chi Minh, Bangkok, Singapore and Penang.

• Provides guests with the opportunity to experience two Queens by sailing to Australia on Queen Mary 2 and returning on Queen Elizabeth – a unique two-ship ‘no-fly Australia’ experience.

Queen Victoria

• Offering a full winter / spring season of Exotic Discovery Voyages from November 2011 to March 2012. Eight voyages taking in New York, Caribbean, Hawaii or the Panama Canal; fares start from £849 per person.

• Departs on inaugural Christmas Hawaiian Islands voyage from Los Angeles on 21 December for 14-nights. Ports of Call include Hilo, Honolulu, Nawiliwili, La Haina and Ensenada; fares start from £2,599 per person.

Value for Money – the new programme for 2012 will offer a range of early booking discounts including discounts of up to £2,000 per person and Complimentary Onboard Spend of up to $1,500 per person.

Thanks Ken,

With regard to the QM2 itinerary, I think that there will be a lot of people just doing England to Australia, or Australia to England, and not many doing the full World Cruise. This is because to do the full World Cruise will require an extra circumnavigation of Australia or a long stay on land in Australia mid way through the cruise. But I think the itinerary on the sector from Sydney to Southampton is good and sufficiently different from the 2011 itinerary that I will probably be now also be booking for 2012.

  • 1 month later...

We booked the week it came out. Am glad the QE itinerary kept most of the same ports as the 2011 QE2 which we couldn't go. We have family in Melbourne, HK and Penang so we can visit them all in one trip. Doing S.F to Southhampton

Hi Ken ~ Are you and Phill considering doing any segments...and if so, which ship? Funny I just spotted this thread this morning, right after Brent and I were discussing the 2012 sailings. Neither one of us has been to Australia and it's been on our *wish list* for some time. Maybe we'll meet up again in 2012! :)

Hi Jack

we wish we were doing a segement - the QM2 to Australia via Cape Town is one we would do in a heartbeat. Unfortunately nothing planned for 2012 yet - but you never know!!! Best regards to Brent.

Thank you, Ken.

Do you have the various itineraries for Victoria winter 2012?

We are seriously considering Elizabeth winter 2012.

What determines the amount of ship board credit per person?

Blue Whale

Sorry Blue Whale - I just found the itineraries online and was the first to post them here!!! I don't think the remainder of 2012 itineraries will come out until later in the year, but I would expect something similar to 2011. Regarding onboard credit, I'm afraid you're asking the wrong person - I know nothing but I think it has to do with the length of world cruise segments taken and which category of cabin/suite!!!

Cheers

Ken
