bigbass Posted June 23, 2010 #1 Share Posted June 23, 2010 Is there any good hotels within walking distance of port everglades? Should we just book one with a free shuttle to the cruise port? We are a party of four adults, staying in late december and early jan for a newyears cruise.May also like to go to a beach, weather permitting. Staying two days precruise and one day post. Any suggestions?
skippyy Posted June 23, 2010 #2 Share Posted June 23, 2010 Been there several times. Very large port and with new "Oasis" facilities seems to cover alot of acreage. Busy highway borders huge parking area. I think you would be very happy to arrange hotel with shuttle. There are numerous offerings in the area with shuttle, breakafast etc. all for free. Small shopping plaza close to many of the "close-in" hotels. Usually a thread going here with names/list of hotels and probably many folks from your roll-call considering staying together. Hope all goes well...Skippyy
BobT172 Posted June 23, 2010 #3 Share Posted June 23, 2010 There are alot of great hotels on 17th St. near the entrance to the port but would never recommend walking to it. The Port is huge and well over a mile end to end ... probably closer to two with zigs and zags...and heavily industrialized and construction...some areas are not walkable. Get a hotel with a shuttle, free or not... we stay at the Embassy Suites and the shuttle is $7pp no matter what pier you are going to. A taxi might even be cheaper if there are four of you. eandj Posted June 23, 2010 #4 Share Posted June 23, 2010 A cab will run around $15. Great if you can fit all your luggage in.

royalcruz Posted June 24, 2010 #7 Share Posted June 24, 2010 It is not realistic to walk to the Oasis terminal. Go for a hotel with free shuttle or pay $15 total for a cab from one of the 17th St hotels. There are lots of airport and Dania hotels with free shuttles.
