Jade13 Posted June 23, 2010 #1 Share Posted June 23, 2010 What is there to do in Sydney Canada that is in walking distance of the port? We are taking a tour in the morning, and wanted to know if there is anything to do when we return as I have not seen anything mentioned nearby. Thanks. travelbig Posted June 23, 2010 #2 Share Posted June 23, 2010 http://www.downtownsydney.ca This site has a lot of info about Sydney including an interactive map which you can find the dock. Look for the large fiddle on the map. Not much to do here in town. There are a couple of historic churches in the neighborhood across from the pier which is also a nice area to walk around in, but not much to the town. Glad to hear you have a tour to go on there. If you like chocolate, be sure to buy some Canadian chocolate (at any of the Canadian ports). It is so good. Our taxi driver told us it's because of the milk in it. It is richer in Canada. All I know is, that is what he said, and it is GOOD. :p
Langley Cruisers Posted June 24, 2010 #3 Share Posted June 24, 2010 We had the most charming day in Sydney, Nova Scotia. We just walked. And walked. :) We got coffee and donuts from Tim Hortons and just enjoyed our day. It was lovely there, very quaint with a lot of history.
