text messaging

Recommended Posts

I was texting 2 years ago on Freedom using the ship's Cell Tower and 200 dollars later i wasn't a happy person. In St. Thomas and St. Maarten this year on Oasis we were able to get service. (I have Sprint, but all major carriers got service there) If there is service in the Western Caribbean, Royal will let you know. (We got a message on our TV) Be careful not to run up a bill like me ;)

While cruising in May, I thought I would purchase some internet time to keep in touch with my daughter at home. I had a choice between $30 for 60 mi. internet use or .5 cents for incoming texts and .50 for outging from my cell phone carrier VERIZON!!! I figured, by the time I spent $ 30 in messages, we would probably be back home!!!

When the bill came, there was a charge of $7.70, 14 outgoing messages and 14 incoming.
