*yawn* I don't think it's even been three months since the last time this topic surfaced.

When I was in the 5th grade (really long time ago) our whole class wrote messages and sealed them in small plastic bottles. It was a fund raiser and your parents purchased the bottle. Then someone took the bottles out and released them off the east coast somewhere. Months later several of the kids got letters from people who found their bottle, one I remember was from Spain. I never heard anything from mine, but my best friend did. I always wanted to do it again, but you know the littering thing bugs me.

Hundreds of thousands of people cruise every year. If they all dropped a bottle in the ocean, what a horrific mess that would be!!!

Our group did one off the Holiday back in '92. It was found and they responded to the person in our group that put his address on it. Don't know what ever happened beyond that.
