Early Carnival Check in at LA

Hi, we will be taking a July cruise out of LA on the Splendor and we want to check in early and visit the Queen Mary. Does anyone know what is the earliest we can check in at the port. I know we cant get on until later, but we just want to drop off our bags.

First--remember that Carnival and the Queen Mary are at the Port of Long Beach; the Port of Los Angeles is another location about 8 miles away.

we will be going out of Long Beach since we are on the Splendor so visiting the Queen Mary is not an issue as far as distance.
